Last night’s show in Montgomery was a blast! Big thanks to the other bands for making for such a loud night!
A Sunday Fire (from Mobile, AL) opened up with a loud and energetic hardcore set that ran a solid half hour. Killer performance! Go see these guys if they get your way. www.facebook.com/ASundayFire
Transit Method (from Austin, TX) were up next and played an amazing 45 minutes of psychedelic grungy prog rock that blew us away. We’ve been listening to these guys for a little bit now, but their live show was incredible! Their cover of “Face Pollution” (Soundgarden) was great, really faithful to the original and seemed like it would be their set closer, but they went into this really great interpretation of “Freedom” by Rage Against The Machine was a riot. Definitely check them out! www.facebook.com/transit method
We then played for about an hour:
5/13/16 Head On The Door Montgomery AL
1: Jam > Purple, Dichotomy, Screaming Inside, Chromatic, Deadly Sin, Yellow Umbrella > Phoenix, Rising Sun, No Interruption
AND THEN Random Conflict took over. These guys have been touring for 20 years now and are southern hardcore legends. Aaron once saw these guys play at a house party in Auburn Alabama in the early 2000’s! www.facebook.com/randomconflictusa
We will be back to Head on the Door on Friday, August 12! Mark your calendars now!
Friday September 11 we will be at The Nick in Birmingham Alabama, opening up for Goldwing and Sam Burchfield. Tickets are $6 in advance through TicketBiscuit; we play at 10PM sharp!
The official music video for “Screaming Inside” is now on our YouTube channel! Go watch the video, give us a thumbs up, tell us what you thought, and then share it with your friends! This is the first song from our new full length album “Astronomy”, which is available now for iTunes pre-order! https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/astronomy/id974950207
We also have a show coming up on Friday April 10th at Union EAV with Lines In The Sky and exStellarator. Both of these bands are incredible and it’s gonna be a kick ass night! We’ll have physical copies of Astronomy available at the show.
On Tuesday August 26th we will be returning to The Masquerade and will be opening for LA’s Smile Empty Soul! This is a BIG DEAL. If we have a good turn out that night, we will get booked for more and more shows. SO WE NEED YOU! Starting next week you can buy a ticket from a band member for $10. No fees, no taxes, just a Hamilton. If you buy them through Ticketmaster, not only will tickets cost you nearly $14 each, but we will not get credit for the attendance. SO PLEASE – buy a ticket and come out Tuesday August 26!
2/8/14 The Drunken Unicorn, Atlanta GA
1: Leaving For Anywhere > No Interruption, Rising Sun > Deadly Sin, Jam > Screaming Inside, Little John, Sunshine
[Loraine opened, Sugar On The Dashboard headlined]
Thanks to everyone that came out, the crowd was awesome and the show was great! The sound was excellent – big thanks to Gavin, Wiggins and the rest of the Unicorn crew for being so cool. Also thanks to Aaron’s wife Melissa for running our merch table for us! And of course HUGE thanks to Loraine and Sugar On The Dashboard for having us on the show, both bands were awesome.
After the show, our good friend Haseena Peera from Little Boxes did a short video interview. We will have that cut up and available on youtube later in the week. Haseena also got a lot of great pictures and video of most of the show, so that will be coming along soon too. Stay tuned.
1/17/13 The Masquerade, Atlanta GA
Purple > Revolutionary Ink > Phoenix > Leaving For Anywhere > Chromatic > Little John, HB 87, Astronaut, Deadly Sin, Dichotomy, Sunshine, Rising Sun
[Steps From Fallen, Elder Sun, Jackwagon, and Mary Blaise also performed]
We would like to give a HUGE thanks to everyone that braved the cold and made it out Friday night! The show was a smash. We have a few pictures now and a few more to come later, as well as video from the show that will be uploaded to our YouTube channel. You are subscribed, right? That’s very important. Go ahead, we’ll wait.
We also like to give Nick Leach a huge thanks for stepping up and learning a bunch of songs fast and doing amazing things! Several people told us at the show how the sound of the band is now bigger and more powerful with the addition of the second guitar and subtle backing vocals. Over the next few months, we plan to go back and add Nick to more of our studio recordings as well as write and record new material with him.
Nate has departed from Over The Effect. This was a mutual and amicable decision, and we wish Nate the best. You can now find him playing drums for Gored By A Deer, a fantastic metal band.
The good news is that we have a new drummer! His name is Sean Rodgers and comes to us from the band Blackwater Creek and was recommended to us by Nick from Role Of The Observer. Sean is a great dude and an awesome drummer and we’re working hard rehearsing material for upcoming shows. His first show with us will be 2/21 @ Asylum.
Here’s a few upcoming gigs:
2/8/13 – Ashley and Aaron mini show @ Ink Lounge*
2/21/13 – Role Of The Observer, Over The Effect, Plvnet, and Alchemy @ Asylum
3/13/13 – Over The Effect @ Wild Bill’s
3/29/13 – Over The Effect @ Ink Lounge
6/27/13 – Over The Effect @ TBA**
* This show will be just Ashley and Aaron playing a one off “acoustic” show. We’ll do some stuff we’ve been working on, some songs that each of us have had for a long time, and maybe a few cover tunes.
** while this date says “TBA”, it’s happening. We just don’t want to announce the venue quite yet. This is a new venue for us and we are very excited to be playing there, but it’s still a ways off.
We are also currently in the process of booking some shows outside of Georgia through June and July. If you have any venue suggestions for any of these cities/areas, please let us know!
New Jersey (not just a state, should be it’s own country)
