The past five years have been very good to us. We wrote a lot of songs, we made a handful of records, made a couple of videos, and we played a bunch of shows all over the southeast. At the same time, playing in an independent band can be very stressful, especially from a business and organizational stand point.
The time has come for us to adjust what we’re doing and where we are going as people and as musicians. As a result, Over the Effect will be going on indefinite hiatus. We’re going to do the 500 Songs For Kids show on 3/31 and our last show will be April 28th at Sweetwater Live in Duluth GA with A Very Loud Death and We are “ex”. We would love to make the last show an absolute blow out, so make sure to come out one last time.
“The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There’s also a negative side.”
– Hunter S Thompson

We hope that you enjoy the album! It’s a bit darker and heavier than the first album, but overall the sound is production is much cleaner – if that makes sense. We would like to thank 99X in Atlanta for playing “Wiretap” from the album TWO WEEKS AGO and for all the online streaming stations that have been playing us and have supported us for a good while now.
More spring and summer dates coming soon, and we have some new videos in the works. (Yes, plural!)
We would also like to thank everyone who has checked out the new album so far and comes to see and support what we do live. Big thanks!
Ashley, Aaron, Rob

I had the pleasure of listening to these three amazing bands on Friday! All three of these bands are native to the Atlanta area, and pack a very talented punch! I definitely recommend if you are a fan of Rock, and soulful funky folk that you check these guys out. They made a fan of me for sure!
