We’re playing two shows at the end of December. Friday 12/28 we’re at Swayze’s Venue in Marietta and then Saturday 12/29 we’re at The Drunken Unicorn on Ponce. BOTH shows are with the awesomely talented Little Boxes. (Go “like” their facebook page. Now. I’ll wait.) This is gonna be a great weekend!
The band has been working hard in the studio on our next release. We made some facebook posts around Thanksgiving about working on an album that we would have out by the end of the year. We got started recording material, and decided to re-think our approach. Instead of doing a full length album, we’re going to release a second EP which will come in two versions. The standard version will be six songs and available on iTunes, Spotify, all the usual online digital music retailers. The version we release through our bandcamp page will include several (3-4) bonus tracks. We’ve recorded a few acoustic versions of a few of our tunes, and we have a new instrumental song we’ve been working on that may be included. We’re doing this release this way as a thank you to everyone who supports us by buying our work through bandcamp. We believe that their business model is a much fairer and equitable system than the typical online music retailer. So please, go download our stuff from there. You can pay whatever price you like (you can even download our first EP for free!), and we get paid directly… we don’t have to wait months for a sales report from a digital aggregator.
We’re going to start working on our full length release after the first of the year, and will have it done in June. We stopped and said to ourselves “Why rush? Let’s do this the right way”. So we started talking about looking into a studio to book where we can record live drums and all record as a band (and Aaron doesn’t have to be engineer while he’s trying to record) and trying to expand our professional team, so to speak. We’ve got a few really great photography people that have expressed interest in working with us, and the word “video” has also been mentioned. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. We’ve also been talking to a small independent record label that we may take on in the new year as our official promoter and publicity people. But again, let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. We’re already looking into booking some more shows for January/February.
